The Rule of Life

Our goal at St. Francis house is to teach balance in both the communal aspects and individual aspects of the community, including every students’ personal, academic, and professional life. As such, we engage in the following areas as a part of our ministry throughout every semester and would love for you to participate with us.

Study.

We offer the St. Francis House space as a place for study and reflection. Through the programs that we put together throughout the year, we want to encourage wellness overall through habit and patterns development which can be applied to not only ones spirituality but to all aspects of life. To support you and this mission, we have House Fellows at St. Francis House who are residents at our location to support our community. Their role is to provide engaging activities over a variety of areas related to worship and communication, to name a couple.

Worship.

We offer worship services at St. Francis House weekly. We have Daily Office Evening Prayer on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 5:45 PM during the school year. On Tuesdays, we have Worship with Communion at 5:45 PM, followed by a soup supper at 6:30 PM.

Life.

St. Francis House as a community supporting the University of Wisconsin community in Madison seeks to help our community build habits and patterns that support not only our spiritual lives but our personal lives too. Through wellness programs as well as guidance and counseling resources, we strive to teach our community that life does not happen to us. Rather, we can achieve a strong level of resiliency no matter what problems are thrown our way.

Whether you walk through our doors to simply grab a snack and take a break or to delve into questions of faith and life, you are more than welcome here at St. Francis House.
